Alabama Baptist Student Union Collection, 1939-1948.

The Cynthia Jo Hall Alabama Baptist Student Union Collection (.5 linear ft.) consists primarily of Ms. Hall's personal mementos. These include newspaper clippings announcing her marriage and work at a Focus Week in Georgia, Baptist Student Union promotional materials, copies of The Baptist Student (1940-1942) and Round the State (1944-1945), personal correspondences and photographs, and a scrapbook made shortly after the aforementioned Focus Week.

A 1942 graduate of Blue Mountain College in Mississippi, Cynthia Jo Hall originally hailed from Tallassee, Alabama. Upon returning to her hometown she taught high school and was the educational director at First Baptist Church, Tallassee. She became Secretary for the Alabama State Baptist Student Union in March, 1944 and led Religious Focus Weeks, specifically at Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia.
